About Us
A Broker Who Has Sat on Your Side of the Table
SLL Commercial Finance is a relationship-led brokerage built on genuine experience of running businesses and investing in property. We are based in Ormskirk, and we work with clients from Southport to Southampton.
- Founder-led brokerage
- Ormskirk based · UK-wide
- Broad panel of commercial lenders
Founder-Led, and It Shows
SLL Commercial Finance was set up because the funding conversations we had as business owners and investors were rarely the conversations we needed. Too many product pitches, too much jargon, not enough interest in what we were actually trying to do.
So the model here is deliberately simple: you deal with an experienced broker who has run trading businesses, raised finance for their own projects and bought property personally. That means we understand what a delayed drawdown does to a build programme, and what a personal guarantee feels like when you are the one signing it.
We are not the largest brokerage in the North West and we have no ambition to be. We would rather take on fewer cases and give each one proper attention from first call to completion.
How We Work
Goal before product
The first conversation is about what you are trying to achieve and when. The product recommendation comes afterwards — and occasionally the answer is that you do not need one.
Straight answers
If a deal does not stack up, we say so early. A fast no is worth more to you than a slow maybe, and it costs us nothing to be honest.
One point of contact
The person you speak to at the start is the person who handles your case to completion. No handovers, no repeating yourself.
A properly packaged case
We present your case with the context and the numbers a credit team needs, which is often the difference between an approval and a decline.
North West Roots, UK-Wide Reach
Our office is in Ormskirk, between Southport and Liverpool, and a good share of our work comes from businesses and investors across Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Knowing the local market genuinely matters when a valuation looks light or a lender questions demand in a particular postcode.
Equally, funding does not respect boundaries. We arrange finance for clients throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and much of the process runs by phone, video call and email — with site visits and face-to-face meetings when they add something real.

Questions Clients Ask Us
How are you paid?
Usually by commission from the lender, and on more complex or time-intensive cases by a broker fee agreed with you in advance. Either way you will see it in writing before you commit, and we will never take a fee without telling you exactly what it buys.
What size of deal do you work on?
From a £10,000 equipment purchase to multi-million pound development and acquisition facilities. Smaller cases matter to us — a business we help early tends to come back as it grows, and that is the whole point of a relationship-led brokerage.
Do you only arrange finance, or do you advise more broadly?
Our role is arranging funding, but the conversation usually goes wider — deal structure, timing, what lenders will and will not accept. Where you need tax, legal or planning advice we will say so plainly and, if it helps, introduce you to people we trust.
